Wonderful experience! The place is big, and it has a lot of animals; they look healthy and good. It has a train to go around the zoo, it costs 8dls, and the trip is around 20 minutes. I don't have food, but you can bring your food. It has only a tiny Coffee shop, Starbucks, with Coffee, tea or hot chocolate.
Compared to the other zoos we have been to, this one is not “as crafted” as the others, in a good way. All the animals have the choice to be super close or very far away from the visitors, which makes every visit different so getting a membership is the way to go if you plan to visit more than two times a year plus free parking. Parking is $8 and is not refundable even if you get your membership at the end of your first visit (your admission tickets are). The membership doesn’t cover the train so you will need to pay each time you ride. There is also a nice playground in the zoo and many picnic tables throughout the zoo.
We visited in the late afternoon and it was getting chilly so lots of animals were inside or hidden away sleeping. But still got to see lots of animals and many were still active and got to see them up super close! We went though fairly quickly and it took us about 1.5 hours, but could easily spend much more time there. Definitely in my top 3 zoos ever visited and will be coming again if/when we're back in the area!
Been quite a few years since we visited the zoo. Decided to check out the red pandas. A bit annoyed that you have to pay for parking in addition to the admission. Would consider buying the annual family pass if visiting more than once.

Great place to bring the whole family out, especially with younger children. Good way to be outdoor and get some exercise for the whole family. It also has several picnic areas.

Able to see most of the animals. Sometimes they tend to be inside or hide at some corner at the back. Just have to look for them. Most of the old favorites are still there. The red pandas are definitely the star attraction. Hopefully the zoo can sustain itself financially and enhance its conservation effort.
Today we visited Vancouver Zoo and I have to say was probably one of best times. All the animals were out, which usually doesn’t happen during hot summer days. It was awesome to see all the bears up close and playing. Lions were just gorgeous. The zoo is beautiful and clean. We had lunch there as well and the kids loved it! I would definitely encourage anyone who visits Vancouver to find time and visit the Zoo!
Les enclos sont vides et tout est laissé à l'abandon. Ils ont tout mis sur le bâtiment principal.
